OUR MISSION
While utilizing the philosophy and methodology of Dr.Maria Montessori, the mission of The Children’s House Montessori School is to Nurture the Love for Learning to provide a rich environment which fosters total growth for a lifelong spirit of enthusiasm, a level of inner discipline, self-confidence, comfortable independence, and true joy. From these roots, a strong student and positive contributor to the world will grow.

At The Children’s House we provide the necessary resources, including opportunities for children to function in a safe and positive environment. Together, the teacher and the child form a relationship of trust and respect that fosters self-confidence, excitement and a willingness to try new things. It is our primary goal to foster the Montessori program which is to help each child reach their full potential in all areas of life.

The children are the real owners of their education. Their insatiable curiosity, infectious joy of discovery, and sincere respect for peers and the world they live in reminds us that there are no standard ways of thinking or learning and no parameters for success. OUR FUTURE VISION
Our school has grown steadily each year developing into a program which will accommodate children ages Toddler - 10 years.  Our goal is to provide a solid foundation for learning to the young people of Ormond Beach and all surrounding communities.  We believe Montessori offers children a solid foundation in which to develop from physically, socially, emotionally and academically.  The Children’s House would like to be the first in the community to offer an eco- friendly facility designed for children. To teach what it means to take care of our planet earth, by recycling, growing our own fruits and vegetables , having a co-op to help the local farmers, using environment  friendly products in addition to developing their academic skills , we also would like to offer nutritional support and exercise program to help promote the well being of the whole child.

Dr.Maria Montessori believed that the promise of the future lies in today’s children.
 “It is the spirit of the child that can determine the course of human progress and lead it perhaps even to a higher form of civilization”, she said and it is through education that she hoped to effect this change.  “Preventing conflicts is the work of politics”, Dr. Montessori claimed, “establishing peace is the work of education.” (Dr.Maria Montessori, Education and Peace). The Children’s House is committed to the Montessori tenet that each person can play an effective role in bringing peace to the world. At the Children’s House, students learn conflict resolution as a way of achieving peace within the classroom. Cooperative living is put into practice as students complete daily chores with the common goal of keeping their classroom neat and tidy. The concept is extended to the world outside when these young students participate in caring for their planet. Children’s House classes host guests who awaken awareness of differences as the school promotes tolerance. Students learn philosophies of peace when they study the lives of historical peacemakers. It is with an eye toward world peace that the school has the expectation that each member of the school community will act with grace and courtesy. The Children’s House hopes each graduate of the school will exemplify this fundamental Montessori practice along every path followed.

educational system today.




OUR GROWTH - YEAR 1996 THROUGH 2010
We opened our doors to thirteen children in the Fall of 1996 .Our Primary 3-6 classroom has been growing for over 15 years, with a waiting list.  In the fall of 2009 we opened a Elementary classroom (Grades 1 through 4, Ages 6 - 10).  In the future we have plans to expand the grades.
